How come I never knew that Nirvana's "Come As You Are" and "Eighties" by Killing Joke were so similar?

Nirvana, a hugely influential band and obviously one of the classics of the Grunge era (Nevermind is 19 years old now!!! It's as old now as Woodstock was when it was released). Killing Joke, a hugely underrated influence on industrial metal, and constant genre hoppers. Check out how similar these tracks are!

I discovered this today in a (great) new series on the history of "Alternative Nation" by one of my favourite sites, The Onion AV Club. Being a child of the Grunge generation this has the potential to be really interesting. Enjoy.
